As we begin parenting, one of our fears was failing to be a real parent. Nowadays, we live by the norms of society and so we are being dictated on how we should live by from the causes of latest trends and scoops of what is acceptable by many. Most of the time we idolize the many families who have impacted what was trending in the families of showbiz personalities or in the main stream media. The public parents live by this hooks daily on social media in general.
Though there are other parents whom I believe to be creating a culture in the family that helps us how to run ours like teach with joy who have made us step to a higher level of commitment. Check out her website and you will find a lot to learn.
In fear of being hooked by this comparison, we are deliberately find our ways to unpack the reality of how we should really live by way parenting should be without the effects of this social media agenda. We are also helped by some of our mentors who have shown us how we should live.
We have developed the following Family Values & principles as we try our best to focus in raising our own family.
Always Forgive – keeping grudges only adds wrinkles, it never gives peace and harmony. Our guiding words from the bible is “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32
Always show Grace towards others – Grace isn’t a free pass that allows us to throw off all restraint under the guise of Christ. Grace, the unmerited favor of God poured out on us by our faith in Christ, is a compelling change agent that, when received, teaches us how to live. says Kristine Hoover
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “ 2 Peter 3:18
Always look for ways to Serve others in need – serving one another as an arduous duty driven by guilt, fear, or manipulation. says Eric Watkins
“ Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2
Never give up – is training like an athlete, you keep on attaining your level until you are finish.
“ And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

I’ve been a parent for quite a while and I can see that creating a foundation for your family matters. If you dont have great foundation your marriage will fail and you family will soon collapse. I am glad to see that you’ve got your own style of parenting!

I am not religious, but I do try to always be a good person, and I’m raising my kids to be the same. I think that’s important.

Great advice – Right now I’m fighting the ‘never give up’ part – my boys are both autistic, and they’re pretty destructive – lack of body awareness/spatial awareness, and an inability to follow rules – as a single Mom, I think I need a break!

Now, this is work a reply. I adore single mom’s raising their kids alone. But for the autistic condition I consider you a super hero. I believe God causes all things work together for good for those who are in Him. We pray that you don’t just keep your responsibility but also to impact others who are struggling with the same. As for you, keep on fighting and doing good, for in due time you will reap the harvest if you do not give up. More powers to you @Tessa G!

This is such a great article. A lot more parents are getting sucked in society’s norms and that has definitely led to inferior parenting styles. But your blog is so on point. Lovely thoughts.

I think that every family should raise their children as they want to and not how society tells them to do. I am not a parent yet but when I will I will make sure to grow my children in kindness.
